Li Ji or Li Chi (1896-1979), was a prominent Chinese archaeologist, who is considered to be the founder of modern Chinese archaeology. He conducted important work in proving the historical foundations of the Shang Dynasty, and was later the first director of the Archaeology department at the Academica Sinica and the National Taiwan University.
