First Edition
First edition. 8vo, 202 [1] pp, printed wrappers. A curious work of issued by a graduate of Dartmouth College, who was later professor of Greek and English at the University of Vermont. Marsh put forth a circular understanding of time - perhaps an influence on his circular, eccentric and occasionally impenetrable prose style - and drew parallels between the contemporary Spiritualist movement and Neo-Platonism. With chapters on The stars, The Republics, The Gods, The Cosmogonies, Fascination, Vaticinating Waters, Manifestations, Necromancy, Theoretic, Differences of Opinion, Elysium, Heathenism Redivivus, Dæmonopathy, and Dogmata. A fair only excample, with wrappers darkened and creased, with some chipping and loss, including a closed interior tear to front pane. Largely uncut. Some occasional darkening and dogearing within. Battered but complete, and scarce in the original wrappers.
