Cloth spine with printed orange paper strip. = One of the rarer parts of the Valvdivia expedition results. This work by one of the most influential German zoologists and malacologists, Emil Karl Hermann Johannes Thiele (1860-1935) contains many new species. The descriptions and illustrations on large plates are excellent. This is the second part of the Mollusca, dealing exclusively with gastropods. The first part (number VII, 1 of the series), written by Von Martens and Thiele, dealing with other molluscs, is not included here. An excellent clean copy.
