Un autre exemplaire, également en reliure signée de Lardière aux armes de la reine Marie-Amélie (de Bourbon-Siciles, épouse de Louis-Philippe) a été vendue en 2007. Le relieur Lardière, actif dans ces années 1840, était installé rue Louis-le-Grand. L'ouvrage est extrêmement intéressant car il propose une analyse très détaillée de toute l'évolution physiologique intime de la femme, telle qu'elle était comprise à l'époque ; la présence de cet ouvrage dans deux bibliothèque royale du temps est un indice d'une évolution des mentalités sur ces sujets. Superbe provenance royale pour cet intéressant exemplaire (reliure un peu frottée, essentiellement en coins et coiffes, annotation moderne en garde précisant l'identité des armes, qq. rouss., ex-libris W. J. Le Mattre en garde, bon exemplaire par ailleurs). Langue: Français.

Bedeutender Grafiker der Österreichischen Moderne und Vertreter der Avantgarde in der Steiermark. Nach Jurastudium 1917/18 als Fliegerleutnant im Ersten Weltkrieg. 1918-21 Besuch der Landes-Kunstschule Graz bei Alfred Schrötter. 1921-23 Studium an der Graphischen Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt Wien bei Alfred Cossmann. 1919 Mitbegründer des Werkbunds Freiland, 1923 der Grazer Sezession. Ab 1920 verstärkt als Buchillustrator tätig. 1925 Auszeichnung mit dem Österreichischen Staatspreis für das grafische Schaffen. 1926 und '67 Holzschnitte für zwei Bände der Insel-Bücherei. Bis 1934 Kulturredakteur der sozialdemokratischen Tageszeitung Arbeiterwille. Wechselte 1934 von den Sozialdemokraten zur KPÖ. Als Teilnehmer des Februaraufstandes 1934, '35 und '36 mehrmals inhaftiert. 1937 malte er das Wandbild Allegorie der Freunde in der von seinem Freund Herbert Eichholzer erbauten Villa Albrecher-Leskoschek in Graz. 1938 gemeinsam mit Eichholzer Flucht über Triest nach Paris. 1941 Emigration nach Brasilien, dort bis 1948 Professor an der Escola Nacional de Belas Artes in Rio de Janeiro. 1948 Rückkehr nach Österreich. 1971 Ausstellung in Graz, 1974 Retrospektive in Wien.
