These slim volumes with their variety of illustrations, print types and use of different materials for binding make for truly individual works of art. Never more than 200 copies, often under a 100, these beautiful books make an ideal present and with their very small print run deserve to join the Private Press classic publishers of previous years as fine examples of the craftsmanship of their time. Three colour plates, one folding. "With three illustrations in chromo-lithography from original drawings by the author." A very handsome leather hand-binding with raised bands and marbled end-papers. One of 26 de luxe copies, lettered A-Z, and hand-bound in full leather. Each contains an original watercolour painting of a grayling by Ashley Boon tipped-in on one of the front free end-papers, and is signed by Ron Broughton, chairman of the Grayling Society. The classic work on North Country grayling fishing, with a new introduction by R.B. Broughton. It is divided into two chapters: "All about Him" and "When, Where, and How to Catch Him." There are three colour plates : 1 fold out of a grayling, 1 of flies and 1 of floats and the dorsal fin of a grayling plus 2 pages of advertisements. The author "sketches lightly the habits and habitat of the fish as they were accepted fifty years ago, following with some capital pages on autumn fishing with the wet fly, and giving dressings of fifteen flies selected by well-known grayling fishers of his time. The rest of the slender volume is mostly occupied by excellent descriptive notes on the popular North Country form of grayling fishing known as 'swimming the worm.' Pritt wrought - and wrote - well as a pioneer, but he only touched the fringe of what has grown into a big subject, and he had not entirely shaken off the hackles of traditional fallacy." (W. Carter Platts. Grayling Fishing. 1939). .

Vancouver, British Columbia. Published by The University of British Columbia Library. 2002. First Edition. Octavo (8 x 6). 199 pp. Signed by Lee Perry, Art Lingren, and Loucas Raptis on the title page. Includes a well-written Introduction to the angling collection and history of the Harry Hawthorn Foundation by Art Lingren. Illustrated by Loucas Raptis. Nearly two thousand angling and fishing books plus pamphlets are listed in the university's Harry Hawthorn Foundation angling collection. The work is more of a fine checklist than a definitive bibliography, but it is nonetheless a valuable contribution to angling literature. A quite scarce bibliography, as only a handful of copies were published. The book is bound in pictorial printed wrappers with a black metal coil spine. In fine condition. Signed by Author(s).
