Hardcover. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. Ownership signature of Lorenzo D. Walden aka Dana Walden on front flyleaf and his initials on front pastedown, and with his rubber stamped W on rear free endpaper. Walden was a Lyceum magician-performer who flourished in the early part of the 20th century. There is an expected amount of age-darkening to some pages which have high acid content. The original blue pictorial cloth covers show some wear to extremities and has a 1/2" tear to cloth with fraying at base of rear hinge, but on the whole, a good copy. No restoration. Hinges are somewhat tender but not damaged. As required for the first edition, this copy is about 1.5" thick and has gilt titles on spine. This book borrows liberally from the work of Professor Hoffmann but also adds material not in Hoffmann's books.
