Unbound. Condition: Near Fine. Poster (24 ½" x 35"). Designed by Kenneth J. Hiebert for an exhibition of corporate design held on October 19 - November 9, 1979 at the Philadelphia College of Art. Gently rolled, a few creases at the bottom corners and edge, near fine. Signed beneath Hiebert's printed name, likely by him. Hiebert studied under Kurt Hauert, Armin Hofmann and Emil Ruder at the Allegemeine Gewerbeschule Basel in the "Fachklasse fuer Grafik" (Basel School of Design, Class for Graphic Design), and has worked on projects with Paul Rand at Westinghouse and IBM. Paul Rand was one of the first American artists to practice the Swiss Style of graphic design, and was known for his corporate logos for IBM, UPS, Enron, Morningstar, Inc., Westinghouse, ABC, and NeXT. He taught graphic design at Yale University, and was inducted into the New York Art Directors Club Hall of Fame in 1972. After collaborating with Steve Jobs on the NeXT computer corporate identity, Jobs referred to him as, "the greatest living graphic designer." A bold poster for an exhibition featuring the work of an innovative graphic designer.
