No Binding. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Nine-page autograph manuscript screenplay signed by Jean Cocteau on the verso of the last page, and five pages of notes on famous cultural figures, for the film 'Ce siècle a cinquante ans' (1950), directed by Denise and Roland Tual. The manuscript screenplay is written in pen, with pencil additions and corrections by Cocteau. The screenplay runs to nine single sides, with Jean Cocteau's name and a note in pencil to the verso of the final page addressed to 'Cher Roland' - the film director Roland Tual, co-director of the film, with his director wife Denise. Once held together with a paperclip, now loose, which has left a light rusty impression to the first and last page. The manuscript is in near fine condition, with no tears; horizontal fold across each page. With five pages of notes in Cocteau's hand on famous artists, writers and scientists, including Picasso, Braque, Rodin, Gide, Sartre, Einstein, Matisse and Colette. Written in blue pen, with later corrections by Cocteau in another blue pen. Each sheet of notes with 'OCF Savoyeux' watermark. Horizontal fold to each page, a few 1cm closed edge tears at the fold, a nick to the top edge of the final two pages. Stain to the first page. In French. Each sheet 27.2cm x 21cm. Please contact me for photographs of each individual page, if required. Signed by Author(s).
