Sir Joseph John Thomson (1865-1940) was a British physicist and Nobel Laureate in physics, credited with the discovery of the electron. Bound in half calf with decorated boards, calf tips, with raised bands. Condition: there is some small amount of scuffing to the spine and along the joints and tips, though not overly so; this is a tight, crisp, sturdy copy. Very Good. There are a number of interesting articles in this volume of the Philosophical Magazine, including the significant entry by J.J. Thomson: "On the Relation between the Atom and the Charge of Electricity Carried by it", pp 511-544 " "that Paper and the deductions which Prof THOMSON has drawn therefrom mark one of the most important stages in the history of chemical theory.
