" Franz Schubert wrote the music in 1825 to verses in 'The Lady in the Lake' by Sir Walter Scott. It was later discovered that the words of the Latin prayer, Ave Maria, could also be sung to this music and many people believe that the prayer served as Schubert's original inspiration. At the time the Disney artists were working on Fantasia, Miss Field visited the studio and saw the pictures that had been created to interpret 'Ave Maria'. She was so deeply impressed by their mystical quality that she wrote the moving and beautiful verses presented here for the first time." The Publishers. Enahnced with gilt ink, color illustrations.

There are other big chips, closed tears and creasing. The jacket is now protected and held together, in cellophane. There is light sunning on the boards.
