Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Fine. First edition. Fine in slightly spine faded, about fine, Edward Lanning-illustrated dustwrapper with a little foxing. The winner of the first Thomas Y. Crowell College Novel Contest, written when the author was nineteen. This copy Inscribed by the author: "To Mary Marshall - Thanks again for the good Christopher St. dinner, from your neighbor, the Mescaline Kid. Stu Mitchner. June 22, 1961. New York City." Probably the earliest author's inscription that we've seen mentioning a psychedelic substance.
