First trade edition. Printed wrappers. Inscribed by the author in pencil to the actress, Martita Hunt, 'Pour Martita Hunt, qui aime la fantaisie, Bien amicalement, R. Pinget'. Spine browned, wrappers slightly dust-soiled, else a very good copy. A comic novel, inscribed to the actress most famous for her performance as Miss Havis…ham in David Lean's 'Great Expectations'. Pinget, a close friend of Samuel Beckett, had translated 'All that Fall' in 1957; Beckett returned the favour with his adaptation of Pinget's radio play, 'La Manivelle', into 'The Old Tune'. Signed by Author(s).
