Limited edition out-of-series print, signed, titled, dated, and numbered (#III/XII) in pencil below image. Sheet, 12 3/4 x 18 inches; image, 6 7/8 x 9 3/4 inches. Created for the 1936 iteration of the Album of La Gravure Originale Belge, this is likely an out-of-series artist's proof: the stated edition for the album was 65, and Wright numbered those prints in Arabic numerals; this impression, however, is instead designated in Roman numerals, and in a much smaller edition of just 12 (this is #III). It appears, though, that the two IIs after the X in 12 were added later, which would correlate to the catalogue stipulation that 75 total prints were created, but indicates Wright may have produced two further, unlisted impressions of the work.
