Signed and inscribed twice by George Wakhevitch, set, production and costume designer born in Odessa, Ukraine in 1907. Red cloth hard cover with gilt titles on spine and gilt dancer on fro…nt board, only minor wear, but some loss of colour presumably related to damp. Unclipped dust jacket is included and has roughened edges, several small edge tears and one large tear involving most of the length of the spine. Inscribed "Vive le Ballet London 1945-1983 by George Wakhevitch", and includes drawing of a dancer; 8 colour plates including frontispiece and numerous black and white photographs on most of the 222 pages. Published in 1951 this 3rd impression is in good to very good condition with fair dust jacket. Inscribed by Author(s).

Fox spotting to the end leaves, minor rubbing to the corners and in Very Good condition. Hand written in black ink opposite the half-title page 'This volume is number 18 of an edition limited to 50 copies specially bound for the author' and SIGNED 'Baron'. The Limited Edition of 150 copies is normally available within the trade, however, this specially bound copy rarely comes onto the open market, having been produced solely for family members and close friends of the author. Member of the P.B.F.A. BALLET & BALLERINAS.
