Internally clean, without name, inscription or bookplate and just a hint of mottling to the pastedowns [the result of the glue used in manufacture]. The dust jacket which is now protected in a removable, clear cover [not shown] has light rubbing to the spine tips corners and edges with a little fading to the titles on the spine. There is a 2.5 cm closed tear on the lower joint at the head of the spine and a 0.3cm closed tear on the bottom of the front panel with a little associated creasing. A beautifully illustrated 1st UK edition. Later printings are titled The Red Balloon or The Little Red Balloon.
