Following a brief sketch of the life of Banting, the author presents a critical note on his work as an artist. Banting was especially devoted to the scenery of Canada, but his sketch book accompanied him throughout the world. The book includes a catalogue of his paintings with the area where the painting was made and the name of the present owner. There are also lists of his drawings and wood carvings. Many of the paintings are owned by physicians, but the vast majority are still in the possession of Lady Banting.
