Condition: Good. The Third Edition. The "Barrier Treaties" were a series of agreements signed and ratified between 1709 and 1715 that created a buffer zone between the Dutch Republic and France by allowing the Dutch to occupy a number of fortresses in the Southern Netherlands, ruled by the Spanish or the Austrians The fortresses ultimately proved ineffective as a means of defense, and the treaties were cancelled by Austria in 1781 This is a good copy in plain gray wrappers Front wrapper cover is detached, but the binding of the text is still sound Ink annotations at top of title page and a few pencil notes on two pags, but otherwise no marks at all Moderate foxing on the first few pages, but the rest of the text is clean 200 pp.
