Original Typed Contract Signed by actor Basil Rathbone, dated August 26, 1930, detailing terms of a termination with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film studio, effective as of August 28, 1930. With the blindstamp and signature of the Notary Public and the signature of the MGM Vice-President. One of a triplicate executed copy, hole-punched and reinforced at the top edge and the back. Touch of age-toning, else fine. 1930 was a busy year for Basil Rathbone, with seven films released, including Sin Takes a Holiday with Constance Bennett, A Lady Surrenders with Conrad Nagel, The Flirting Widow, and A Notorious Affair with Billie Dove. Rathbone did return to MGM later in 1930, starring in The Lady of Scandal with Ruth Chatterton, This Mad World, and The Bishop Murder Case with Roland Young.
Signed vintage matte-finish sepia tone photograph, shows Basil Rathbone in a costume portrait in uniform, 4,5 x 6,5 inch, signed and inscribed in blue ink "To Eric Moorhousen -Sincerely - Basil Rathbone", with mounting remnants to the corners of the reverse, mild silvering to the darker areas, very slightly trimmed corners, and creases to the right edge - in nearly fine condition.
