Condition: Fine. Robert Sargent Austin (illustrator). Bath Time', a sensitive and tender pencil drawing of the artist's wife bathing their young child. 135mm x 100mm, signed RS Austin and again Austin on original mount. Austin was an engraver, draughtsman and painter. He studied at the RCA where he later taught for many years. The Ashmolean Museum Exhibition catalogue, 1980, 'Robert Austin etchings, engravings, drawings and watercolours', states, "he was a draughtsman in the great tradition of Ingres and Degas and he shared their ability to make profound statements of beguiling simplicity". Excellent original condition. Mounted with conservation board and framed.
