Bisher wurde dieses Modell allerdings hauptsächlich im Kontext der Exterozeption, bei der die Beziehung zwischen dem Gehirn und der externen Welt im Fokus steht, ausgearbeitet. Seit wenigen Jahren wird jedoch auch die Interozeption, die Wahrnehmung interner physiologischer Reize innerhalb des Körpers, erfolgreich in das Bayesian Brain Modell integriert, um den menschlichen Organismus an sich besser verstehen zu können.
