Original tan cloth with red titles on the spine and original pictorial dust jacket. 184 very clean and bright pages, mild speckled endpapers, previous owners signature on the first free page. The front cover has three punctured tears as shown in images. Boards are rubbed and faded with time and bumped on the corners and spine tips consistent with age. The dust jacket is rubbed and faded with time and chipped along the edges consistent with age but remains intact. Usual toning and age appreciation should be expected. A very scarce original first edition. A novel following the life of a young man raised on an Irish farm who becomes an activist for the cause of Irish freedom.
