One of 250 copies of which this is no. 126. Signed by author Milne and illustrator Ernest Shepard on the limitation page. Condition: a fine copy with stil…l uncut pages. Internally a clean copy without previous owners' inscription, no bookplates, no stamps. The original yellow colour box in which the book is housed is present and is in very good condition. Light edge wear and one corner section loss as shown on our last image. Most copies have the original box lacking by now or are in poor state. The House at Pooh Corner was the last of four books featuring the honey loving bear 'Winnie-the-Pooh'. One of the most memorable and beloved children books which has stood the test of time and still entertains children around the globe at bedtime. In the… dust jacket, with periodic closed and open tears (mostly small), that have been backed with old, disintegrating tape. Pearce's study of American Southwestern nature writer Mary Hunter Austin (1868-1934). Illustrated with photographs. Inscribed by the author to Olive Rush on the half title page: "For Olive Rush with gratitude / for the beautiful portrait of / Mary and its place in this / book / T. M. Pearce." Olive Rush contributed the oil painting used on the front panel of the dust jacket.
