Bendix NASA Apollo 8 First Day issue envelope, addressed to & signed by Thomas O Paine NASA Administrator 1969 with Houston postmark. iNside the envelope is the official 4 page guide to the FDC with a list of space missions to that date and a stamped received notelet. This was found amongst a selection of books i acquired from the collection of former head of NASA- Thomas O. Paine- who led NASA in 1969-1970 including for the 1st moon landing During his leadership the first seven Apollo manned missions were flown, in which 20 astronauts orbited the earth, 14 traveled to the Moon and four walked upon its surface. Many automated scientific and applications spacecraft were also flown in U.S. and cooperative international programs.
