Early Soviet-Russian, illustrated biographical pamphlet on Buster Keaton in constructivist cover. In the 1920s Kinopechat, the Soviet state publishing house for cinema, published a series of booklets focusing on the popular foreign film actors of the day. Each pamphlet was published with striking constructivist cover, designed by different artists. The cover of this brochure was created by Konstantin Vyalov (19001976). Vyalov studied at the Stroganov Institute and at Vkhutemas under David Shterenberg, Vasily Kandinsky, Vladimir Tatlin and Aristarkh Lentulov. As a major artist of the time Vyalov's works were exhibited internationally during the 1920s and 1930s including Paris (1925), Berlin (1928), Venice (1932), New York (1933), and London (1934). .
