Publisher's red topstain. Rubbing to extremities; several chips and dents to board edges. Closed tears and chips to top/bottom of spine. Crayon-drawn "25" to top corner of front free endpaper. Light age-toning to pages. Hinges and spine tight. Laid-in: original front dustjacket flap, telling of book's plot and indicating this is a "Book Club Edition" Max Ehlich's sweet inscription reads: "To Beverly - Whom I love - because she loves my work - which, in effect means - she loves me. Sincerely, Max". Signed.
