Hinges are toned; front flap's hinge exhibits tearing. Yellow lettering toned, but legible. Top corner of front flap lacking (does not appear to have been purposefully price-clipped). His best known works include the novella collection Uncle Tom's Children (1938), the novel Native Son (1940), and the memoir Black Boy (1945).
