First edition. Signed copy of this important book from Ginsberg which illustrates the great influence of Indian Gnostic-Mysticism on his poetry. 8vo, 210pp. Signed by Ginsberg on the title page. Line drawings, photographs. Publisher's brown cloth boards in illustrated jacket. Front hinge cracked, lacking front endpaper, and with old tape reinforcement along length of title and again on verso. Top edge stained black, likely to obscure a stamp. Jacket nicely preserved with some toning, edge wear, and a sticker pull near base of spine. A very good copy, perhaps cleaned up copy. Laid in is a ticket stub to an Allen Ginsberg reading at Evergreen College in 1980, where the book was signed.

Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. First printing of Ginsberg's journals (1962-63) from his time in India. SIGNED by Ginsberg on the front endpaper without inscription. Included is a handwritten note on decorated paper from Finnish poet Anselm Hollo (1934-2013). Hollo asks Ginsberg to write a review that will interest Allan Komblum, founder of Coffee House Press, in publishing his book. Near fine in a very good dustjacket. Not priceclipped and no markings. Someone, quite possibly Ginsberg himself, has handprinted "ALLEN" before "GINSBERG" on the jacket spine and added "CITY LIGHTS" to the lower portion, suggesting this may well have been Ginsberg's personal copy. Book.
