Antique 5.5" x 3.5" hand signed photo for Geraldine Hurley who was a Surrey based soprano here shown in a beautiful bo-peep dress from a theatre appearance who has personally autographed the souvenir showing some reverse browning (please note just the other side and not the main side) which has some small places to allow but very good condition and undedicated signing too (please seemy other Geraldine Hurley letters sent in the 1920s and WW2 at my store).

Hardcover. Condition: Fair. 1st Edition. Gilt-decorated green cloth. 18mo (4 1/2 by 6 inches). 285pp. Inscribed by the author on the flyleaf: "To Mrs. John R. Plunkett with the compliments of Howard Seely and Andrew F. Underhill, Sept 27th 1885". Underhill was the book's dedicatee. A collection of Texas stories by the New York author. Edward Howard Seely, Jr. graduated from Yale in 1878 and from Columbia Law School in 1880. He was a member of the Author's Club and edited the revived version of "Peterson's Magazine". He traveled in Texas and throughout the southwest gathering material for this, his first book, and his other books including "A Ranchman's Stories" and "A Nymph of the West". Seely suffered from mental problems and committed suicide in 1894. A worn copy with some soiling and edgewear to the covers and some heavy rubbing and tip wear to the spine. There is a bookplate at front with an ink number above it else the text is good and clean with some light wear. RAINES p. 184. Inscribed by Author(s).

This 1836 political cartoon symbolizes a government figure or national authority who has lost control of their "flock", possibly referring to lost influence over constituents, colonies, or parliamentary allies. The rhyme's moral to "let them alone" may critique passive leadership or reliance on patience over action.John Doyle, known by the pen name H. B., was an Irish political cartoonist, caricaturist, painter and lithographer.

No Binding. Condition: Fine. Sarg, Tony (illustrator). Sarg, Tony. ORIGINAL PEN AND INK DRAWING BY TONY SARG CAPTIONED "WHAT DID LITTLE BO PEEP LOOSE?" PUBLISHED IN PARENTS' MAGAZINE. Chicago: The Parents' Institute, Inc., 1940. The drawing which is captioned "What did little Bo Peep loose?" measures 7-1/8" x 13-1/8" on an 10-3/4" x 15" sheet of drawing paper. The drawing features Little Bo Peep and three of her sheep which seem quite happy to once again be found. This drawing was published on page 66 of the August 1940 issue of Parents' Magazine where it illustrated a section named "Information Tests For Children;" Sarg was a regular contributor to Parents' Magazine throughout the 1930's and early 1940's, supplying the magazine with humorous drawings which often featured his trademark caricatures of animals; drawing is signed and by Sarg lower left; various printer's notations in the margins. The condition of the drawing is FINE. Included with the drawing is a copy of the August 1940 issue of Parents' Magazine where the drawing was originally published. Signed by Illustrator(s).
