"Bobby Benson and the B-Bar-B Riders" was a Western radio program for children that aired between 1932 and 1936, and again between 1949 and 1955. It followed the adventures of a 12-year-old boy who protected his ranch from outlaws. Comic books, a television show, and even an amusement park followed the show's success, with many other merchandising ventures, including the present item: a mail order "Code Book" and "Code Rule" for children o use to break codes. The booklet goes over how code breaking works, and the code rule-- constructed much the same as a slide rule-- serves as a key. Code book measures approx. 4.5" by 3", pp. 24, illus., in original illus. wrps; code rules measures approx. 5" by 2"; both with original hand-addressed enveloped sent in to the company by a child, 3.5" by 5.25" Very good. Light toning, dust soiling.
