Poster. Lithographed poster, 18x23.75 inches, very good, variant version with white background. Seale, who had been sentenced to four years in prison for contempt during the Chicago Eight conspiracy trial, was further tried in 1970 on charges of having ordered the killing of Black Panther Alex Rackley, who was believed to have been a police informant. The jury was unable to reach a verdict, and the charges were eventually dropped. Supporters believed that Seale had been framed in order to hamper his activism as a Panther leader. The government suspended Seale's convictions in 1972 and he was released from prison.…

An unidentified newsprint poster featuring Black Panther Bobby Seale to the recto with a New Left essay titled "An Amerikan Dream" to the verso. The essay is printed in blue in two columns and framed by images of bombs, raised fists, marijuana leaves and a fist holding a rifle. In between the columns are drawings of various counterculture, black power, and other unidentified figures and Huey Newton standing in front of an American flag with a skull where the stars should be. The poster could have been issued as an insert or supplement to an underground paper, but there are no page numbers nor any other identifying information. The poster is in the vein of others published by the anarchist group Friends of Malatesta, but we could not confirm their authorship. Newsprint sheet measuring ca. 23" x 15" and printed in color on both sides. Some closed tears along the edges, fragile, but very good. Not located by us anywhere.…
