Gauthier-Villars. - Mit teils galanten Szenen aus der Pariser Gesellschaft. - Der Journalist, Musikkritiker und Romancier Henry Gauthier-Villars (1859-1931), Sohn des Verlegers Jean Albert Gauthier-Villars, war seit 1893 mit der damals noch unbekannten Colette verheiratet. 1905 wurde das Paar geschieden. Gauthier-Villars war 1924 auch Mitarbeiter der ersten französischen Homosexuellenzeitschrift Inversions, unter seinem Pseudonym Willy. - Sehr gutes sauberes und dekorativ gebundenes Exemplar. First and only edition of what is probably the first photo novel. - With a handwritten letter (2 pages) from H. Gauthier-Villars. - Featuring scenes from Parisian society, some of them gallant. - The journalist, music critic and novelist Henry Gauthier-Villars (1859-1931), son of the publisher Jean Albert Gauthier-Villars, was married to the then unknown Colette in 1893. The couple divorced in 1905. In 1924, Gauthier-Villars also contributed to the first French homosexual magazine, Inversions, under his pseudonym Willy. - Very good, clean and decoratively bound copy.
