A near fine copy in like D/W slightly foxed on the verso of the dustwrapper which does not show though to the front of the dustwrapper. A novel of other-worldly manifestations, eerie flute music, and demonic possession set in 1933 British Guiana. Mittelholzer must have been well versed in supernatural fiction. He alludes directly to Poe as well as the stories of M.R. James. The entire plot of My Bones and My Flute seems to have been inspired by James' love of antiquarian objects, ancient manuscripts, cursed objects and terrifying vengeful creatures. Great period D/W artwork by Sanford. A much nicer copy than normally seen. Photographs/scans available upon request.
