Unframed. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. A fine collection of seven original full colour illustrations by G. D. Rowlandson that appeared in Warne's "Tiny Tots Animal Book" (in Warne's 'Popular Picture Books Series'). The illustrations include a particulary fine study of a Jack Russel Terrier and her puppies; a "rare breed"sow and her piglets; a cock, hen and chicks; the other illustrations are Guinea Pigs; Red Squirrel; Pigeons and final a study of Grey Squirrels. The illustrations are in watercolour on thick card; all are signed G. D. Rowlandson or initialed G. D. R. The dimensions are approx. 135 x 230mm; most with contemporary brown paper protectors. All are in very good condition. An outstanding collection of original and decorative animal illustrations by an important animal artist: George Derville Rowlandson (1861-1928) was a British artist best known for his iconic hunting scenes and animal studies, as here.
