A "reducing" or weight loss diet marketed to women encouraging them to eat more bread: "The new Bread Diet gives you a liberal amount of Bread at every meal. This. makes dieting pleasanter than you might believe possible. You won't feel hungry when you eat Bread!" (p. 1). Conveniently, the booklet was published by the makers of a brand of bread called "Baker's Bread". Capitalizes on the pressures on American women to maintain the perfect figure. Contains calorie counting advice, meal planning suggestions, and a brief pitch to increase bread in the diet of children as well. Note the lack of testimonials for the effectiveness of this "reducing" plan. Single vol. (8" by 5.5"), pp. 16, illus., in original illus. wrps with photo of trim woman in her undergarments standing on a scale.
