Contents clean and bright. Carl Brockhaus, who published extensive instructional and edifying literature after founding his publishing house in Elberfeld, was considered the recognized leading brother within the closed brother movement. His son Rudolf Brockhaus continued to run the publishing house in the spirit of his father and until around 1930 had a decisive influence on the thoughts and actions of the approximately 700 closed Brethren meetings in Germany.
