CONDITION DESCRIPTION: As n…ew with minor cover soiling and rubbing. CONTENTS DESCRIPTION: What a great and inspiring story of a Belgian-based escape and evasion net. Anne Brusselsman operated the COMET escape line for Allied soldiers as an English housewife living in Brussels. She supervised the passage of more than 150 British and American pilots out of Nazi-controlled territory in 4 years. Named MBE; awarded the Belgian Croix de Guerre with Palm Leaf. This woman risked her life many times on the behalf of the Allies from the early 1940's until the British Forces liberated Brussels in late summer of 1944. This personal story written by her daughter is a loving tribute and full of information not found elsewhere. This copy is signed to me from Yvonne who I met a number of times at various Air Forces Escape and Evasion Society reunions. Both she and her mother were wonderful ladies; both with an undying love for American and British flyers. Inscribed by Author(s).
