In ancient times, the Bull of Heaven symbolized supernatural strength, ferocity and prosperity. In the Mesopotamian Epic of Gilgamesh, this mythical creature descended to earth to ravage the city of Ur…uk, before being slayed by King Gilgamesh. Unwilling to die, the great bull ascended to the stars to claim the constellation Taurus. The Bull of Heaven is an apt symbol for the autobiography of Nawar Alsaadi, who survived war-torn Iraq before earning the battle scars of business while in exile in France. This is also the story of how Alsaadi wound up in Canada, made millions in the stock market and then used that wealth to fight corporate greed. This is what readers have been saying about "The Bull of Heaven": "Nawar's life account is an amazing story of tremendous personal success in the face of overwhelming challenges. His will to achieve has driven him to overcome what seem to be insurmountable odds. This book will open your eyes to experiences that are hard to imagine." Mark Swedan, Swedan Investment Management. "Fantastic read of a man who overcame hardship and fought the odds to become a self made millionaire using proven techniques by the investing greats of the past. Would recommend this book to anyone who wants to become a serious investor. Learning from other people's investing mistakes is the most inexpensive yet invaluable way to maximize your returns." Benjamin Alexander, private investor.

Condition: Very Good. An excellent annotated album of bull-fighting by a noted writer. Reynolds, a British journalist, was the author of three books of travel: FROM THE IVORY COAST TO THE CAMEROONS (1929), BY DESERT WAYS TO INDIAN SNOWS (1932), and AFRICAN PASSAGE (1935). Most images taken by Reynolds (with his stamp and penned…comments to verso of many pictures). Subjects encompass the totality of Tauromaquia: from the selection of the bulls and the opening processions to the spectacle of the ring. Numerous action shots, including several gorings. The images primarily show the matadors and toreadors: Maera, Joselito, Cojida, and Nino de Palma - said to be the model for Pedro Romero in THE SUN ALSO RISES. With Reynolds' concise but informative typed captions, an engaging portrait of the culture and sport of bullfighting we suspect was a intended for eventual publication. Hardcover. Oblong 4to. cloth-bound album. 25 x 36cm. 103 original photographs, most (92) approx. 3.5 x 5.5" with remaining 7 x 9.5". Almost all images accompanied by typed detailed captions. SIGNED by Reynold's to front pastedown. Covers rather rubbed and wrinkled. Else sound and internally fine. Very good overall. Signed.
