First Edition
Hardcover. Small 8vo. 187pp. Black cloth spine with paper label and green/red patterned paper over boards, slipcase with paper labels. Near fine/good plus. Front pastedown ownership signature; while slipcase is complete, strong and fairly attractive, it has been expertly and archivally restored and strengthened. The usually-absent slipcase is present and nice -- and the first edition it holds is exceptionally tight and bright. Quite scarce in such superb condition. "Delightful informal essays by the writer who knows dogs so well that he has a peculiar insight into the humorous and misguided activities of the human animal," notes the slipcase labels -- although this male disagrees vehemently with the last of these six essays, titled "Men Hate Cats -- Why?".
