Seine Dokumentation der alliierten Landung in Europa sicherte ihm den Beifall der Kritiker und der Öffentlichkeit. 1954 erlag er den schweren Verletzungen, die er sich beim Tritt auf eine Landmine in Vietnam zugezogen hatte. -> In addition to Robert Capa's most famous works, this portfolio also presents some recently rediscovered images of the photo legend. Born in Budapest in 1913, the self-taught photographer is considered the founder of photojournalism. His impressive shots of the Spanish Civil War made the passionate opponent of the war world famous overnight. In 1939, Capa went to the United States and worked as a war correspondent for Life magazine and the U.S. military, and became a co-founder of the Magnum photo agency. His documentation of the Allied landing in Europe secured him the applause of critics and the public. In 1954 he succumbed to serious injuries sustained while stepping on a landmine in Viet Nam.
