Add to basketIn Modena, Per gli Eredi di Bartolomeo Soliani Stampatori Ducali, 1761. In-folio (27,6 cm x 21 cm). Pp. XLVIII. Segnatura: A-C8. Capolettera e fregi in xilografia. Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book presents an erudite yet lighthearted anthology of verse, focusing primarily on the Italian "Berni" style, a satirical form of poetry popular in the 16th century. The author, a celebrated poet in his own right, provides insightful commentary and historical context for each pie…ce, illuminating the subtleties and nuances of this unique genre. Delving into the rich literary history of the Italian Renaissance, the book explores the ways in which these poems both reflected and shaped the social and political climate of their time. Through the lens of masters like Giambattista Araldi and Tigrinto Bistonio, the author uncovers the multifaceted nature of Berni poetry, from its playful wit to its incisive critiques. Beyond its historical significance, this book also highlights the enduring relevance of the Berni style, showcasing its ability to capture the human condition with humor and insight. By shedding light on this often-overlooked poetic tradition, the author enriches our understanding of Italian literature and offers a valuable resource for scholars, students, and lovers of poetry alike. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.
