Condition: Poor. [1867]. This is an ex-library book and may have the usual library/used-book markings inside. This book has hardback covers. In poor condition, suitable as a reading copy. No dust jacket. Small octavo. Half calf binding. Gilt lettering on spine. Raised bands on spine. Front cover detached but present. Spine cover… loose. Internally clean, with ink annotations throughout on interleaved separate pages. These include one small sketch of Guy Fawkes being carried to the bonfire. Marbled boards and end papers. Red page edges. A very scarce Lincoln publication. The book has the bookplate of Sir Charles Anderson, Bart., who lived at Lea Hall, Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, and he has signed it on the title page, stating the additions are by him. Anderson has also dated his entries as 1868. There is a note about them on an interleaf opposite the title page. The copy is also signed by Robert Godfrey of the Surveyors Office in 1948, with a typed letter to him from a bookseller, Thomas Godfrey in York, asking if a copy he had could be resold.
