Moderate shelf and edge wear to portfolio boards, with rubbing on all edges and on joints. Scuffing on the rear board. Light splitting at the bottom of the rear hinge. Large portfolio containing 44 color and monochrome mounted plates showing the Hofmann Corps. in action in Eastern Galicia and the Carpathians. Eleven pages of text (in German) also included along with a separate folded sheet containing the signed limitation page and the list of the plates. This copy is signed twice by the artist; once on the limitation page and again at the bottom of plate no. 13. Condition: The cloth spine of the binding is missing; only parts of the ribbons on the fore-edges are remaining; the front and rear covers are worn, toned and smudged. The front of the folded sheet containing the limitation page and list of plates is toned; the plates however, are very good to near fine. Overall, a very good copy. Signed by Illustrator(s).
