One of several revised Taylor editions of this classic work; as often, this is a working copy with signs of use. This is the fifth edition, although it is not numbered as such; Taylor published a 4th edition in 1805 and a 6th edition in 1814.

Enlarged version of this notable work by Nicholson.The owner, one William Annis of Sproxton in Leicestershire, appears to have been practicising his very best handwriting on the endpapers, a nice personal touch.

Nicholson's brilliance as both a carpenter and practical mathematician helped to make his Guide one of the most importance guide books for the 18th and 19th century craftsman.
