This 1838 cartoon is a complex and pointed political satire. It anthropomorphizes political institutions and legislation, portraying them as patients suffering from a terminal illness.John Doyle, known by the pen name H. B., was an Irish political cartoonist, caricaturist, painter and lithographer.
