Reliure janséniste en plein maroquin vert foncé, Tranches dorées, double fillet sur les coupes, doublures en soie vert foncé, Avec des initiales en métal argenté sur le plat supérieur (H.C.) . Reilure signée P.(étrus) RUBAN. Avec une page ex-dono manuscrit (Offert par ma mère 21 octobre 1890).

Tours, Mâme, 1855, format in-8° (140 x 90 mm), (8)nn pp (title, chromolithographic title, original portrait photograph of the Holy Mary) + 608 pp + 4 chromolithographs + 4 steel-engravings. ( complete). Binding: a signed binding of Petit (rue Larrey nr. 1), Full brown morocco, both covers with deep recess decoration (lillies). Corners and top and end of spine bordered with silver plated strips. With two silver plated clasps in the form of a lilly. Endpapers in brown coloured real silk. All edges gilt and with intricate ciselling work (floral spirals). Stunning binding in perfect condition. Especially the ciselling work is of the finest quality; the book block appears as a solid block of gold. Allthough French 19th c. devotional books are quite common; a copy like this one, in a elaborate signed master binding , in perfect condition is very rare.

#Paris, Gruel et Engelmann, imprimeur R. Engelmann, 1885m petit in-4°, 15,2 x 11,8 cm, 687 pp, chaque page avec une bordure typographique élaborée illustrée. Reliure en plein maroquin blue/gris. Le plat supérieur décoré avec un grand rectangle dans le coin supérieur; entouré d'un décor à petites losanges qui montrent au milieu une fleur en cuir rouge dans un champs doré. Tranches dorées, double fillet sur les coupes/ Les doublures sont en soie gris avec un décor de fleurs coloriés en travail de broderie. Reliure signée Emile Rousselle. Bel exemplaire en parfait état. Exceptionaly fine preserved French 19th c. devotional book. (Roman Catholic missal), The endpapers are covered with fine silk embroidery work (coloured flowers).
