Condition: Good. Original B&W lithograph on wove paper. 17 × 11.5 inches. Good. Moderate foxing across the surface, and margins; a two inch tear along the bottom center edge. Signed in the plate with the initials HB. This 1841 cartoon critiques an effort by one political faction or figure to co-opt or control. Possibly a reference to recent elections, party defections, or leadership shifts in 1841.John Doyle, known by the pen name H. B., was an Irish political cartoonist, caricaturist, painter and lithographer.
