HARDBACK - A near fine book bound in the publisher's black cloth boards with bright silver lettering present to the spine. There is just a touch of pushing to the spine tip, aside from the pushing, the boards are very clean and fresh. Internally clean with a touch of foxing to the closed text blocks. No foxing or finger marks inset. There is a small name to the top of the front end-paper just above the authors inscription ( M.J. Clarke ). Signed and inscribed by the author to the title page. The inscription reads.MATTHEW - BEST WISHES / PATRICK / 1964 SEPTEMBER 18. Matthew Clarke was a lifelong friend of Sir Patrick', his father having served in the RAF with Mr Moore. The family connection continued throughout the astronomer's life, especially after the early death of Matthew Clarke's parents. An excellent association copy. Laid in is a compliment slip from International Book Distributors Ltd '' With the Author's Compliments'' The dust wrapper is in near fine condition with no loss or tears and with bright colouring. Light soiling to the edge of the front flap and to the rear panel. The publisher's printed price of 10s.6d.net is present to the front flap. Signed by Author(s).
