Acknowl, description of the parts of the book, author's foreword and intro; Xxi parts (from "Descriptive Astronomy Necessary for an Understanding of the First Principles of Celestial Navigation" to "Identification of North and South Celestial Poles, Polaris, and Ruchbah", "Use of Sextant", through to "Use of the True Azimuths of the Sun" and Abbrev/References); index. Heavily illustrated with charts, tables, and photos. Condition notes: An unclipped but otherwise battered dj: light rubbing, but numerous small chips and tears (some closed); a large chunk to front tail, evident in photo, about 3" x 1.5" on average. Moderate soiling to slightly warped boards, spine ends rolled, corners bumped. Top edge shows soiling/foxing, less so to fore- and tail-edges. Interior lightly tanned but unmarked; minor remnant surface roughness/tear to p. 1 (apparent spot of something w adhesive qualities).
