    Large 8vo, pictorial boards, illustrated, 316 pp. Edgewear, cover with a few chips, tears and creasing, notation on endpaper, normal aging and browning: otherwise in about condition . This children's book series was started by John Erskine Clark (1827-1920) in the late 1860s. Each book contains children's stories, and some wonderful illustrations, some of which are in color, especially in the later issues.
