      Hardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. First edition and printing. In good pictorial paper covered boards featuring a ship with yellow titles and grey cloth spine. The boards are flat, quite clean, a little wobbly and with worn edges. The end pages feature black and white adverts and are very lightly marked. There is a prize plate on the front paste down. The text block is profusely illustrated with black and white drawings, maps, figures and with a few colour plates. The pages are even and firmly attached to the boards. The cut edges foxed and age-toned and some of the pages have light foxing or a few marks. Good plus condition. Issued without jacket.

Bumped corners, which are a little torn and some of paper coating coming away on board edges. Binding not firm, though holding. Cracks to inner hinges. Textblock intact. Foxing and browning to page edges and a little marking to endpapers but apart from this and the odd mark page surfaces are generally clean, no writing, underlining, marginalia, etc. See pictures for further information.
